Diabolical customer care

My husband has an M & S credit card. He recently asked to add myself as a second card holder. Easy you would think. I have lived in the UK for nearly 50 years. I pay taxes, I work, I am registered to vote, I have had my own bank account for over 38 years. No apparently they can't find me so want written proof.
