Massive Hike in Premium

After being with Purely Pets for 5/6 years, we submitted our first insurance claim for our dog. After paying £99 excess, we only claimed around £150 towards cost of treatment. The following renewal premium was double the previous term (£700 from £350). I complained about the hike and said I expected a 10-20% rise, but got a final decision saying it was what it was. Currently going through the Financial Ombudsman with my complaint. Apparently, they have received a lot of complaints about other pet insurance companies! Reviewed on: 10th July 2019
