An invaluable tool

The Better Off Calculator has been an invaluable tool in my work with participants on the Restart Scheme. It’s helped me guide individuals in understanding how different work scenarios—like moving from unemployment to part-time or full-time work—impact their overall financial situation. The calculator is easy to use and provides clear breakdowns of income, benefits, and entitlements, which has been extremely helpful for participants who are unsure about how returning to work might affect them financially. It’s especially useful for showing whether they might be entitled to additional support or how much better off they would be in various employment situations. Using this tool has empowered participants to make more informed decisions and given them the confidence to take steps toward employment, knowing exactly how their finances will change.
