Life changing

After a few bad years with a lot going wrong in my life I found myself with about 20k debt and just paying interest but not reducing the debt. I realised I would be in serious trouble if I did not seek help. I saw adverts of debt companies offering to consolidate loans but Iit would cost me more money which would have defied the object. I then came across StepChange who offered debt solutions tailored to my needs, to pay back what I owed without ruining my life completely. And most importantly not charging fees, which I would struggle to pay. I completed online forms and listed all my debts separated by priority and non priority debts. They helped me create a realistic budget, recognising where I could cut costs by cancelling subscriptions I didn’t need or didn’t even know I was still paying. If you want to be debt free you have to accept that some things are luxuries, which should not be indulged if you’re in debt. I’ve been paying for 2 years now, I can see my debt reducing and I know I will be debt free in under three years. And that’s feels good. It’s not a shame getting into debt, but it is not doing anything about it. StepChange is the best that could have happened to me and I will be forever grateful for the help I received.
