If it wasn’t for StepChange I really don’t know where I would be today. My financial difficulties began following an accident I had in December of 2024 and I was unable to continue working. I was 68 years old at the time so all of a sudden, I had to rely solely on my State Pension and although at this point I began only paying the minimum amounts each month to my creditors I was left with very little income to survive on. I hated going to bed at night because my mind started working overtime with worry and I wasn’t sleeping. The bills kept coming and were increasing more and more each month so after contacting my creditors one of them did advise me about seeking financial advice and told me to look online for StepChange. It was the best decision I ever made to contact StepChange and they have literally given me a new lease of life. Now that I am in my 70th year I am finally sleeping better at night and managing to live within the budget set out for me. I no longer have any credit cards and there are no extra luxuries but at least at this stage of my life I can finally relax a bit more and enjoy the simpler things in life thanks to StepChange.
