It was the hardest phone call I ever made but I couldn't see my way out. I'd already tried more credit to pay off other credit and realised too late that doesn't work! It was embarrassing and exhausting always worried about how to pay the next bill or who was going to phone next for late payment. Then I called Step Change and it was like there was an angel on the other end of the phone! No judgement, clear information and advice from the first word. This time I cried from relief. It took a little organisation and setting up but it was worth every minute. I'm now going to be debt free by November this year and am so excited. And while it's been underway I've learnt to budget properly and realise that sometimes you have to wait to be able to afford things. The support throughout has been amazing and every time a debt was cleared it was like a little celebration in my mind. I cannot fault Step Change one bit and highly recommend that if you are struggling give them a call, they will talk you through the options and their help is invaluable. Don't delay, hoping it will look different tomorrow because that's exactly what it does but it looks worse. Get help and feel genuine peace of mind. Some of my creditors made me feel so small and we're quite nasty, others were understanding but unable to help but once Step Change were involved it all fell into place.
