Great system to use to save or loan! :)

I have had two loans from Sheffield credit union, I think the system they use is good as it promotes saving and the interest on the loans isn’t far fetched. Their communication is excellent so you are aware of how long it will take and any other information. It is easy to navigate the app and apply for loans and I think being able to bank transfer money to the savings account is good and easy addition. I particularly like the fact that money only goes back into your bank on a weekday and takes a couple of hours which has really helped me to stop impulse buying and allowed me to save much more than with a regular bank account as I would take money out of my savings account without a second thought. Now I know it takes longer I really think about whether I need to buy the purchase or not, so yet again allows me to think about my spending and save more. All in all I’ve had a great experience and will continue to use this service! Reviewed on: 28th May 2026
