Review of the National Debtline, Debt advice:

Helping me advocate for myself and very supportive

I have called National Debtline a few times over the past few months. I am signed off sick from work after discrimination at work and have been dealing with a backlog of credit card debt due to a lack of income. I called three times, each time, the agents have been friendly and informative. They have helped give me the best advice based on my situation. I am currently negotiating with my creditors, but National Debtline warned me not to overpromise, and helped me when I was stressed out and fearful. They reassured me a great deal and made me more likely to engage with my creditors rather than just ignore them. I am considering a Debt Relief Order if things get worse, but for now they have helped me realise it's not so scary and it's okay to ask for help. Reviewed on: 29th May 2026
