Non judgmental, helpful, free advice

Non judgmental, helpful, free advice and guidance. I found myself in a situation where my circumstances were changing and I realised I needed to find a way to take control of my debts. I was struggling to keep up with alongside the cost of living increases. I contacted Step change who evaluated my situation, gave me options and their recommendation of the best way to proceed. I was given choice and advice. After that I was guided through the next steps, outlining my budget, payments to creditors and Step change handled the communication with the creditors. I’ve had minimal contact with the creditors, I’ve managed to stick to my payment plan and I’m a few months away from being debt free. Facing up to debt, taking control of your finances is hard but Step Change makes the process easier and less daunting. Reviewed on: 3rd June 2026
