I was struggling with overcommitments to loans and credit cards, but equally terrified of facing up to the full extent of my debt. Stepchange's online guidance helped point me to the best solution- a debt management plan- without judging me. You do need to pull a lot of information together, but you'd have to do this anyway if you're serious about sorting out your finances! Once the application was done, the process was straightforward. Stepchange dealt with pretty much everything (I still had to tell my creditors that I was entering the DMP) and now make monthly affordable payment to my creditors on my behalf. I'm so grateful for the service they provide and the place of mind it has brought me. Reviewed on: 4th June 2026
