Review of the PayPal, PayPal Credit:

Problems Not Easily Soilved

I have always found staff at Customer Services very helpful and polite, however, I have had a few issues with Paypal Credit. The most recent being that a refund of £50 was required, due to me returning an item to the seller, so I telephoned, but the refund was sent to my Paypal Credit balance rather than my bank's current account, as I had requested, so I had to call again. This resulted in the £50 being transferred correctly, but a further £50 being sent to my Paypal Credit account, which remained in credit for some time. Then a correction debit of £100 was made and put me in debt for £50, so I had to call again. Having checked all the transactions, the staff member had to call her manager and I was advised that the only way this could be resoved was for £50 to be credited to my normal Paypal account, and then transferred to my Paypal Credit account. She attempted to create this £50 credit but it required managerial approval by which time the manager was in a meeting until after their closing time. The £50 was credited to my Paypal account the next day and I transferred it to my Paypal Credit account to clear the debit balance. Whilst the issue was eventually resolved, iit was a long and unnecessarily complicated process, caused by errors from three different staff members. The first who created a credit but didn't transfer it to my bank's current account, as I requested, the second who created a second credit to transfer it to my bank rather than just transferring the existing balance and the third who created a debit of £100 when it should have been £50 to clear the outstanding erroneous debt on my Paypal Credit account Reviewed on: 22nd May 2026
