Sneakiy membership fee charge without warning

I signed up several years ago for the nectar credit card and have been very happy with the service until they suddenly charged me £30 annual membership fee this year without warning. Customer service poor. I cancelled account immediately and stopped using the card but they still took a small charge until the cancellation was processed at their end (despite the card no longer valid.
