Review of the Monmouthshire Building Society, Savings:

Not a rational approach to business.

Dear Mr William Carroll, It now seems that Monmouthshire Building Society is no longer a customer centric Building Society. My wife and I have been regular savers with Monmouthshire Building Society over several years currently holding several savings accounts but NO MORE. It seems according to your staff unless you save through your new APP you can no longer open a savings account other than visiting a Branch. So, if you are elderly, like us 78 years of age, live the other side of the country and do not want to save via an App we will be looking elsewhere with one of their competitors who will no doubt welcome our business. Seems to us to be very short sited and certainly not a rational approach to encourage business. Dear Mr William Carroll, Reviewed on: 2nd July 2026

We understand that not all customers wish to use digital services, and we appreciate that branch access may be difficult for some, particularly those who live further away or prefer more traditional banking methods.
