Fraudulent activity and accusations led us to leave

I’m taking this forum to discuss the frankly astoundingly poor customer service we received when dealing with a large amount of money being taken from my wife’s account. Monzo did not try to help us recover the money, they were unavailable via the phone and every time we tried to resolve it via the app... a new person with very little additional input helped us. We were even told that Monzo wouldn’t return our money. At this point I’d like to point out that the company that this fraud was used within, is highly regulated and adept to this nature of transaction. IN LESS THAN TEN MINUTES they resolved the issue due to ‘clear and obvious’ fraudulent activity. They refunded immediately. The trouble didn’t stop here however. 15 days after the refund was processed, we still had nothing. Upon working with the other company, we got them to use another method instead of returning to a card. This came in again, very quickly. Money was moved and the account shut. Monzo are a fantastic and innovative bank, WHEN things are going well. But when there is a bump in the road (there are always disingenuous people in life), not only did they do nothing to help. They exacerbated the stress by being accusatory in their investigations. Therefore I would not recommend to family/friends. You can’t just be a fair weather bank. Life is not always sunshine and rainbows... you HAVE to be in your clients corner! Reviewed on: 12th November 2019
