24 7 waste waste of money

I had a very disappointing experience with this boiler insurance company. The engineer identified a faulty fan, which is a normal repair, but then also claimed that the entire boiler casing needed replacing because the insulation was damaged. This dramatically increased the repair cost and resulted in the boiler being considered beyond economical repair. What I don't understand is why this insulation issue was never mentioned during the annual service carried out by the same company just a few months earlier. If it was such a serious problem, surely it should have been identified then. From my own research, replacement insulation is inexpensive, so recommending replacement of the entire casing seems excessive. I asked for a clear technical explanation but have yet to receive one. I bought the policy for peace of mind, knowing my boiler is 16 years old. Instead of feeling supported when I needed to make a claim, I was left questioning whether every reasonable repair option had been properly considered. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company unless they improve the consistency and transparency of their claims process. Reviewed on: 6th August 2026
