CHEQUES LOST INTERNALLY AT MONMOUTHSHIRE BS

After depositing a cheque at the end of June in a local branch, I was told over 2 weeks later that it could not be found. Please be aware that MBS need to pay cheques into HSBC and due to bank closures this is often done via the Post Office. My cheque did not make it to HSBC. Apparently 3 other cheques were lost on the same day! After internal investigations, my cheque has not been found and so I am missing a considerable amount of money. I am now overdrawn in my current account and awaiting Monmouthshire Building Society to credit my account with the value of the cheque I paid in. I have patiently waited 7 weeks but I now really need the money. Reviewed on: 16th August 2026
