We had a garage fire

We had a garage fire and saga and their chosen underwriters dealt with the claim efficiently and kept us informed all the way. We had a burglary more than 10 years ago (a different insurer) and the claim was difficult and we were not happy with the final outcome feeling we were fobbed off a bit with replacement items that were not the same quality as the lost items. Saga and their underwriters were completely different. The roof needed completely replacing, The clear-up was very good and all the internal walls were gritted blasted and the garage was like new on completion and all contents were allowed for and paid out on.. The only minor issues were that it took the best part of a year to complete everything which seemed longer than it needed to be and the increase in premium seemed very steep but was probably similar to other providers. The process and the overall service was very very good and we were more than satisfied with the final result. Reviewed on: 29th August 2026
