Laka Delivers When It Matters

I have been with Laka for several years and, unlike many people reviewing insurance, I can speak from experience of actually having to make significant claims. After a serious cycling accident in which my high-value Brompton was badly damaged, Laka supported me through the claim and replacement process. They also provided Health & Recovery support, including physiotherapy, which showed me that their cover is about more than simply replacing a bicycle. Unfortunately, I later experienced another very different and distressing incident when my electric cargo bike was stolen during a robbery. Once again, Laka dealt with a substantial claim and helped me get back to cycling. These experiences are the reason I continue to insure my bicycles with Laka. I own several bicycles and comprehensive insurance is a significant monthly expense, so I don't say that lightly. Insurance can look excellent on paper, but its real value is only discovered when something actually goes wrong. In my experience, Laka has been there when I genuinely needed them. I also appreciate being able to manage and adjust the cover for my different bicycles, and when I have contacted Laka with questions, including recently about changes I wanted to make to one of my bikes, I have received clear and helpful answers. Cycling is an important part of my everyday life and something I enjoy with my family, so having confidence that my bicycles are properly protected matters enormously to me. Based on my own experience of multiple genuine claims and continued cover, I can confidently recommend Laka. For me, they have demonstrated what a good bicycle insurer should do: provide reassurance when everything is fine, and deliver when something goes wrong. Reviewed on: 2nd September 2026
