Ethical companies with moral values

I started saving some of my money in a stocks and shares ISA with Triodos. I already had a current account with them and I wanted somewhere else to save money where it might earn interest but I was concerned about potentially shady investments made by other mainstream banks. With Triodos I know that my money is being invested in ethical companies who align to my moral values. Reviewed on: 20th March 2026

Sustainable credentials

I've been banking with Triodos for a number of years now and I chose to move to them because of their sustainability credentials. There is a small monthly charge for their services, but I think 'free' banking leads to problematic investments (by the banks) and that banking should be a service that we pay for just like other services.
