Review of the Triodos Bank, Current account:

A bank with a social and environmental conscious and one that treats their customers in a person centred way

I chose to bank with Triodos because of their over arching commitments to social and environment justice and their promise they won't invest in fossil fuels, the arms trade, unethical corporations, etc But for me the most important thing has been how they've treated me as a customer. Earlier in the year I went through a period of stress that meant I was signed off work for a period of time. This had a huge impact on my finances. I was constantly in my overdraft and at one point didn't have enough money for a monthly payment. I received a phone call from the bank with dread expecting a fine. Instead I was asked if everything was ok and if I needed any help. I explained my situation and the friendly and supportive adviser I spoke to suggested they could waive the fee for the payment. But they alao cancelled the interest charge on my account. Since then I have received regular calls to see if things have improved and have not had to pay any fees on my account whilst my finances are stabilising.
