Rather confusing signup but seems best price/product on the market, amongst some very dodgy ones

After a 1-month free trial via my pet's breeder, was fairly inundated with emails and texts to extend to a full year. Petplan were offering "1 month free" *OR* 10% off. However what's not really clear is that you can't extend your initial free trial online - if you do, it counts as two separate insurance periods and your pet isn't insured for the first 4 weeks of the full period.
