I've been a Starling customer for 4 years now, and find it such a simple experience. Contacting customer service is done through the app, and I've never had to wait too long for a helpful response. The app is intuitive and simple. I think it's great to get instant alerts when there is any activity on your account, whether expected or a surprise. Transferring money to my savings account is immediate and managing payees is straightforward. I couldn't consider going back to a high street bank while they've got so much catching up to do. Moving my current account to Starling has opened my eyes to the way banks should all be operating nowadays. Everything is clear and straightforward. I couldn't go back to a banking app which doesn't give me instant alerts about money coming in or going out of my account. Setting up payments is secure but still so simple. I've only needed to contact customer services once, and five minutes of direct messages via the app got my query sorted. I hope they're considering offering credit cards in the future. Easy to use, immediate notifications of spending, early notice of payments going out, full control of debit card, interest on balance, no overseas transaction fees. Reviewed on: 19th January 2020
