I heard about Starling primarily because a friend say she used it whilst in Spain on holiday, using the Euro was very cheap on the exchange. I used to use Revolut for the foreign exchange rate. I looked into the background of Starling and saw the Anne Boden vids on YouTube and realised it was a proper bank I could use as a current account and when I travelled. After I switched to Starling I realised what I had been missing. So many details about payments, the nearby payment thing, the alerts for pending payment BEFORE they come out the account, rather than saying you are overdrawn and you need to put money in or we will charge you alerts. So many little bits, not enough time to go into more detail but overall very pleased. Reviewed on: 24th January 2020
