Review of the first direct, Regular Saver Account:

Great service, talk to a real person everytime!

First Direct do a regular saving account for customers, it currently pays 6% interest, which is fantastic. The account runs for 12 months, before maturing upon which another regular saving account can be taken out. I have had 4 of these accounts now and fully intend continuing with them. I use mine as a Christmas savings account, so it is an excellent way for me to have Christmas sorted without wondering how I will pay for it. Like everything with First Direct, it is easy to set up, with excellent communication and always a real person to speak to on the phone, without having to wade through a huge range of options. good deals on balance transfer options

I have used my MBNA credit card for many years. I tend to use it less as an everyday credit card, instead I take advantage of the long balance transfer deals they keep sending me and use it to spread the cost of purchasing a large item. I find that it can take a while to get to speak to someone, lots of options to go through and then a reasonable wait for the call to be answered, however I do find that when I am able to eventually get through, my call is dealt with efficiently and approval granted quickly. I don't use the card as my everyday credit card as there is no loyalty points scheme and the interest rate is fairly high compared to other cards. Reviewed on: 23rd October 2016

Excellent service in branch

Best bank by miles

I have banked with First Direct for nearly 20 years and have always experienced excellent customer service. I especially like being able to talk to a real person, 24/7, 365 days a year.
