Review of the Santander, Mortgage:

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

We have been loyal Santander mortgage customers for 10 years and came to move and port our fixed rate mortgage to our new house, only to have Santander tell us after 8 weeks of providing them with various documents etc, and at the point of needing to exchange contracts, that they wouldn't in fact port the mortgage and we'd have to pay them a £14,000 penalty or find a different house to move to. Absolutely disgusting treatment. Don't consider them at all. We have since gone to Barclays who have issued a Mortgage Offer on our new house at a better rate than Santander in SIX WORKING DAYS!
