Debt free with support from StepChange

For years I struggled with my debt and Stepchange were there when I needed help the most. They helped build a positive communication with my creditors and, with some hard work and tough choices, I am now debt free. The online portal helped me track my budget, my payments and what progress I was making. With the budget calculator I never paid more than I could manage but, the Stepchange dealing with my creditors and having interest frozen, I was able to get on top of it all. Debt free for the first time in nearly 20yrs!

I was left with a lot of debt following the break up of a previous relationship. For many a year I struggled to make my regular payments until I had to concede I needed help. A quick google check pointed me towards Stepchange. They quickly helped reduce the stress I was feeling in trying to manage my poor financial situation by being supportive and available with advice. They also gave me solutions to overcome my situation. I have been using Stepchange continually now for more than 5yrs. Initially, I was predicted to clear my debt in 2063, when I would be 90yrs old! But overtime, through the advice and support I was given, I learnt to manage my finances better and increase my monthly payments to the point that I will be completely debt free by the summer of 2025. Support when I needed it most :o)

Following a messy break up I was sinking with debt and suffering with stress and depression. Onequick phone call with Stepchange and the weight was lifted! They were so empathetic and treated me as if I were there only client. I still have a long way to go but they have made each step a little easier.
