Review of the Admiral, Car insurance:

An unusually good insurance company

I recently had cause to make a claim on my policy. The cost of the repair was around £10k. My car is about 3 years old and there was no dispute about placing the repairs with a Porsche-approved repairer. Some other insurance companies could have argued against that because of the higher cost of officially-approved repairers. Admiral made no attempt to direct me to another repairer. Also, on the day I collected the car after the repair was completed, there was heavy rain and wind so that I couldn't properly inspect the work. Several days later I noticed that one of the wheels had been damaged in the accident and this hadn't been noticed in the estimate or during the repair. I raised the matter with Admiral and they agreed that the wheel should be repaired as part of the claim. I am extremely happy with the way in which Admiral handled my claim and, on top of this, I received the unexpected £25 per car refund from Admiral because of the lower level of claims they had experienced during the Covid lockdown. I have no hesitation in awarding Admiral 5 stars and have already told friends and family of my good experience with Admiral. Reviewed on: 2nd August 2020
