I remortgaged my existing loan with Newbury BS. It was a lengthy process but I was eventually successful.

The Newbury BS was not prepared to land as much as another lender but this was actually a good thing as it forced me to reduce my extensive mortgage to a far more reasonable one. Their fixed rate product was very competitive and, for my age, they were willing to give me a fair term to repay the loan. They were also willing to consider my individual circumstances which were beyond the norm. The application process was lengthy and very time consuming with numerous requests for evidence for my circumstances. This part of the process could have been facilitated if Newbury BS could have a dedicated customer service rep to liaise between the applicant and the underwriter. In the ultimate analysis, Newbury BS came through with the mortgage deal being applied for for which I will always be very grateful. Reviewed on: 5th February 2022

Opening a new savings account

We visited the Basingstoke branch of your building society to put some money in our senior savings account and one of your staff pointed out that we could.earn more interest from another account. Taking her advice opened a new account each. We were served by a very pleasant and helpful young lady called Gladys Iredale who was very professional and opened our accounts with the minimum of fuss. Expecting the passbooks in a couple of days, we were very surprised to receive them the following day. Excellent service. Reviewed on: 4th February 2022

Great service thank you

At NBS it always feels as though you speak to somebody who cares and wants to find a deal that suits your needs. They are genuinely out to help you and not just to sell you something.
