Renewal of existing mortgage, with additional variation

The only finance company that would give us a mortgage

We were looking for a mortgage to help us purchase a property for a local charity, who supported young people to develop the skills to live independently. No-one would touch this model, it was outside their standard buy to let criteria. Fortunately, Newbury Building Society knew us and our previous experience with rental properties They also supported the local charity Young People and Children First (YPACF) that we were working with. Moral to the story, go local and go to an independent that can think out of the box. Reviewed on: 1st October 2021

Excellent Service

Due to Covid we had moved and this caused us issues with redeeming our policies. We worked with Charlotte keeping her informed of developments and she assisted where possible. We felt she was supportive and understanding. Reviewed on: 1st October 2021

Very responsive

Our re-mortgage was a little unusual and Newbury were prepared to consider it on a 'common sense' rather than a 'box ticking' basis. I used a mortgage broker but, on occasion, I spoke direct to the Newbury underwriting people. They were accessible, knowledgeable, very helpful, and efficient. It was so refreshing to speak to a person - not an answering machine! I would certainly recommend the Newbury to others. Reviewed on: 28th September 2021
