Appalling service

1
I am trying to get a password to enable me to operate my account online. I find this a cumbersome and unnecessary procedure, made worse by my inability to ever get through on your Head Office phone number 01664414141. I have many accounts with a variety of building societies and banks and have never been asked to phone for a password. I have tried ringing several times at different times of the day and always get the message that we are busy ( SO ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS!) and we will ring you back. But of course I am not here when you ring back , so I have to start the process again. I should add that your menu asks 'press 1 for savings , 2 for mortgages etc etc, but having pressed 1 for savings , the menu then repeats itself and it's only on my third attempt that I get through to savings, only to be told you are busy. What should be a simple procedure has become a Kafkaesque nightmare. I wish to make a formal complaint. I think this level of service ( or lack of) is not acceptable. Reviewed on: 24th September 2024

Poor service

I couldn't log on because of changes in your system. Temporary passwords sent out are unnecessarily complicated and difficult to read with many special characters.Saffron ask for feedback but then ignore it Reviewed on: 15th January 2024

Stuck in the 19th century

I applied for a monthly savings account but because I did not send up enough ID documents, they cannot open an account. I will now send up further ID but what a faff. The staff on the phone were very pleasant and rang me back as promised BUT the Scottish Building Society must move into the 21st century and do electronic checks. I have accounts with lots of small building societies, Loughborough, Principality, Buckinghamshire and Cambridge to mention a few. They all confirmed my ID by electronic checks. Why can't SBS?
