This British Disruptive Fintech changed my life

I couldn't wait for this product to be launched in the UK. I had always wanted to buy shares, back when Amazon and Google first emerged, but I was always put off by the fees, forms and intimidating culture of stock brokers. When Freetrade was launched, it felt safe, simple and always accessible because it was an app on my phone. It allowed me to buy shares for as little as a pound, and to purchase fractions of shares, when I didn't have the thousands to necessary to obtain a single Amazon share. This flexibility and freedom meant that I was able to dabble and diversify, whilst only risking a few quid or what I could afford to lose. This was great, as I remember £1 invested in Chesapeake Oil, when oil prices were negative, actually returned a 24000% profit. Without a product like Freetrade, no one would ever have phoned a traditional brokerage and asked to purchase 99p worth of shares: as they would have been laughed at, and then charged £20 for the trade, which would have been enough to put me off. Suffice to say, I quickly built my capital and wealth thanks to Freetrade. Now I have a SIPP, ISA and General Investment Account with them, If not for them, I would not have any of the above, nor made tens of thousands in profit, to the point that I can now pay off my mortgage, debts and have a proper nest egg that I can grow for retirement. This British, disruptive fintech has changed my life for the better and for that reason, they deserve this award more than anyone else. Thank you Freetrade! Reviewed on: 18th January 2021
