Simple way to build financial skills in children

My son has had his card since he was 8. He has used it to save for things using his pocket money and gifts received for birthday and Christmas. Family have found it easy to make those gifts. He has had weekly chores to help earn additional income. He loved being about to use his own money to buy things he wanted giving him a sense of achievement and building a good foundation for the future. It was helpful as a parent to be able to set spending limits and to receive the alerts. Also being able to temporary block the card in case it’s lost (quickly leans responsibility!). Now almost 15, the progression to a card which will do Apple Pay helps keep him in touch with the adult world. The support and suggestions in their Instagram helps build his knowledge and I am sure he will be much more savvy about money than I was as a young adult.
