Review of the Pave, Credit Score Builder:

A powerful tool for recovering from the past.

After leaving a DV relationship with debt incurred by that ex partner, my credit score was not the best and then took a further dip struggling to make ends meet on a single income with full rent & bills to pay. Changing banks to take advantage of signing on bonuses also negatively affected me and I was left with limited options on how to build a better credit score as I couldn't get approved for credit cards etc. To add to that, I have ADHD which is bad when it comes to making impulsive financial decisions. I initially used the free version of Pave to start making a very conscious effort to work on as many aspects as I could to improve my credit score, I did not realise that things such as being on the electoral roll contributed to your score until I used Pave. In time I decided to upgrade to the credit score building version and have used that, along with things like responsibly buying things on 0% finance, to slowly improve my score. It did decrease last year when I had to move rental properties (non-fault eviction) and therefore I am no longer benefitting from the electoral roll boost and moving to Octopus for my energy counted as opening a new account. However I am back on an upward trend with my score and the Pave credit score builder is a great tool to have in the arsenal not only to help me keep track of things I need to do, but also to actively help improve my score going forward. It's definitely a service I have recommended to friends who are stuck in a rut when it comes to credit. Reviewed on: 29th April 2024
