Review of the Ecology Building Society, Mortgages:

Assessed by real people, not by computer

We are in the final stages of building an unusual house, low carbon, ultra low heating, etc. Instead of a standard response (typically "computer says no"), the Ecology mortgage team member assigned to the case took the trouble to understand the build and the ethics behind it; she went through our finances and got back to us when she thought we'd overstated one of our costs; and they then made a very reasonable offer which we accepted. All the way through, it's been a pleasure to deal with them. Reviewed on: 11th March 2021
