Quick to exclude

3
Good price but they are very quick to exclude certain conditions for the slightest thing. One of my cats had a urine infection - a one off - so they excluded all urine-related problems - and what a faff to get a review - you have to formally request it, get a vet's history and generally jump through a whole load of hoops. I do sometimes query whether honesty is always the best policy in these circumstances Reviewed on: 10th February 2019

Great Saver!

Love Nationwides Flex Regular Saver; at 5% it offers one of the best interest rates around. It's a shame they dropped the monthly limit from £500 to £250 but still a great way of saving and making your money work harder for you Reviewed on: 10th February 2019

What a rip-off

1
I had been with Sheila's Wheels for about 4 years for both my car and home/contents insurance; they always came out among the most competitively priced when I checked comparison websites so I was happy to stay with them. However when my car insurance renewal quote came through this time it seemed very high and certainly didn't rate among the most competitive on comparison websites. In fact their own website quoted me nearly 90 quid cheaper and Confused.com undercut even that. When I contacted them they immediately said they would match the price on their own website (but were noit interested in matching the one on Confused.com). They would however have happily charged me the asking price of their renewal quote had I not challenged. I politely declined their offer and went with another company. Very disappointed in Sheila's Wheels - as a result of their stance they also lost my custom when it came to renewing my home and contents policy the following month. Insurance companies spend a fortune on advertising to attract new customers so why do they treat the ones they already have like dirt - not to mention insulting our intelligence? It is beyond me! Great product!

I have a Flex account with Nationwide - its so easy to make payments online or transfer money to my other Nationwide accounts and best of all I get free travel insurance for travel anywhere in Europe, which is great for me as I travel a fair bit (and they were brilliant last year when I broke my arm just before travelling to Rome - they didn't charge me anything for cover and even sent me a letter to confirm they were happy with me travelling etc which came in mega useful at the airport). Branch staff are always helpful if I have queries - I would most definitely recommend them Reviewed on: 11th February 2018

Flex Regular Saver

5
I earn 5.00% gross interest by saving each month into a Flax regular saver. The maximum monthly amount you can save is £500 but you can put in less, and you don't have to do it every month either; just transfer from your flex account as and when. It does only last a year but at the end of that year you can simply open a new account and start over again. The money saved from the previous year is put into something called a Flexclusive account with an interest rate of 0.5% - or you could put the money you have saved towards an ISA with a higher interest rate. Interest on a Flex Regular Saver is calculated daily so best to make any transfers as soon into the month as possible. I am really pleased with my Flax Regular Saver; by the end of 2016 I had saved £6000 and earned interest of over £150 Reviewed on: 3rd March 2017
