Very well thought out app

I was concerned at first that this was not going to be a good way to save for my son who is 11. I was concerned about the costs and charges but to be honest they are now insignificant compared to the managing that I had to do before. Everything is done via the app, I transfer money into the adult part of the app each month and that feeds the child’s account with money at a frequency and amount of my choosing and then he can do what he likes. We have had this now for nearly 2 years and at first he was spending every chance he got but once he realised that the app let him create saving goals he started to ‘spend’ towards those instead. He is now totally confident with money, how to save for what he wants and how to look for the best deals online as he gets to see how the savings between one seller and another would effect his balance. He has a very healthy saving in his account, has monthly expenses like magazines and spends less money in junk (which is what he would have done with the cash). This is 100% a great idea so long as you put the effort in to start with to help set up and manage the money, then let them get on with it. We now don’t talk about ‘I want this I want that’ or ‘can I get this or can I get that’. Brilliant. So thanks !!! Reviewed on: 22nd March 2021
