Review of the Starling Bank, Business Account:

Really frustrating. No real explanation or support

As a sole trader and owner of a small start-up, I was looking for a reliable bank to open a business account with. I tried with Starling, but for some reason, after opening a personal account (a pre-requisite), I was then not given the option to open a sole-trader business account. When I called customer service to ask why I was given no reason and told to check back sporadically. I have been waiting for months now with no change. I have no way of proving that I am a viable business if I am not allowed to use their business account, so I have had nothing but bad and frustrating experiences with this bank so far. I really hope it improves in the future for genuine start-ups and entrepreneurs like me. Reviewed on: 16th April 2021
