Wonderfully kind people and a fantastic Charity

We have been with Stepchange for the past 6 years, and they are fantastic. We are in a Debt Management Programme and from the outset, they have taken all of the stress and worry away from dealing with our creditors. Our situation is complex and we do worry about our future but knowing we have Stepchange on our side makes life bearable. We cannot recommend them enough. Before we knew about Stepchange, we were looking at using a company that advertised on the TV and after contacting them, we were bombarded with phone calls saying we only had hours to make a decision to use them and sign up and it just didn't feel right to be put under that much pressure. So we contacted Citizens Advice and they told us about the charity Stepchange. All of the money from our monthly payments goes to the creditors. Not like the first company we contacted who would have taken a hefty amount for themselves which is why they were putting us under pressure. Wonderful support.

My husband and I are at retirement age and prior to this, serious illness meant that our debts got out of control. Through Citizens Advice we made contact with Stepchange and they helped us put a debt management plan together. That was a few years ago and although we still have issues to deal with moving forward, our creditors now leave us alone and Stepchange manage our DMP and deal with any issues. They are a godsend and without them I don’t think I could have carried on. I can now sleep at night and I know that they will help us deal with things in the future and be at our side. As a charity they do not charge any fees like some other companies that hard sell. All they need is honesty from you nothing else. All of our monthly payments go to the creditors. Wonderfully supportive and non judgmental

I have gone from sleepless nights and perpetual worry to being able to relax a little more. Whoever you speak to at Stepchange are always reassuring and non judgmental. Our debts are huge and we are over 60 without the possibility of paying the creditors within the next 10 years. Nonetheless Stepchange support us all the way and for that I am eternally grateful.
