Review of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, Motorhome insurance:

Best for camper vans

I could not register my van as a camper van with the DVLA. They wanted more external evidence of its change of use. (It is a converted Mercedes sprinter). Pretty transfers on the bodywork etc. To join the caravan and motor home club I also had to submit pictures of the conversion. Insuring through the club meant that their insurance brokers took that into account. Presumably looked at the same pictures. Their conclusion was obviously that the user really loved the van and would look after it carefully. They were right in that assumption. Hence significant saving on my insurance premium. In short they seem to price their policies on human interaction not on what ‘the computer says’. Reviewed on: 27th July 2021
