Excellent Free Bank Account with Benefits

The Reward Current Account provides £3 free every month for staying in credit, having minimum 2 direct debits and minimum £750 paid into the account. There are also cashback extras which give cash rewards for shopping using the Visa debit card that comes with the account. Overdraft charges are minimal at 1p per day for every £7 of overdraft, great for those of us with small to medium sized overdrafts. Staff are always helpful and the online banking service and mobile app are excellent, very easy to use. Reviewed on: 3rd January 2018

An Excellent Free Bank Account

Halifax's Reward Current Account is free and pays £3 per month if you stay in credit and have 2 direct debits and £750+ credited to the account monthly. There are also cashback offers for using your debit card which are paid very quickly. Cash ISA

I took out a Cash ISA account with Halifax several years ago (I already had my current account with them). The account is really easy to use - I just transfer money using online banking from my current account to my ISA with a few clicks. Money can be returned to my current account in the same way with unlimited withdrawals and no penalties. I tend to use the account for short to medium term savings to keep the money separate from my current account, its not the best rate of interest but if you want a savings account that is tax free, easy to use with unlimited free withdrawals then I would highly recommend this product. Reward Current Account

I have the Reward Current Account from Halifax - it pays ME £5 per month for each month I stay in credit, pay in at least £750 and have two direct debits leaving my account. If I don't meet the conditions in any given month then I just don't get the £5 for that month, its a no lose situation and doesn't cost me a penny. Online banking is excellent and easy to use and the telephone team are helpful and available 24/7. I've been with the Halifax for about 20 years, highly recommended. Reviewed on: 28th March 2016
