When conducting our annual reviews, most of the staff were friendly and helpful and were let down by the few who were less than helpful, hence the loss of one star in the rating. We have however, with their help got through our problems and are now happily debt free! Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

Staff Dependant

Like all organisations, Stepchange is only as good as its staff. In our experience, some annual reviews have been a pleasure with the staff member being sympathetic and helpful. On other occasions, the staff member has given the impression of being disinterested, one, to the point of being derisory that we were in a bad financial situation due to circumstances outside of our control. We understand that there are people who will deliberately get into a financial mess by refusing to pay their debts but that does not mean we should all be put into that category. Stepchange provides a vital service to those in financial difficulty and for that they have our vote, but, staff must be made aware that clients deserve a sympathetic ear unless they prove otherwise.
