A big help and helps ease the stress of debt

Due to unforeseen circumstances I found myself having to seek help with debts and being constantly harassed by my creditors when my circumstances changed and I was unable to pay them. Every single day it would be a nasty phone call, threatening letters until one of the creditors suggested that StepChange might be able to help me. I called them up, they were understanding of my situation, eased my mind about what the creditors could and could not do to alleviate any fears that I had and then they helped me create a debt management plan on what I could afford to pay, which they then sent out to my creditors. Once that happened, my creditors were happy, they stopped applying additional charges for late fees and interest, and they left me alone to just get on with repaying my debts at a monthly payment that I could afford. Repaying then because easier and affordable. Pay a monthly payment to StepChange and they handle all the rest, proportioning out my monthly payment across all my creditors. My creditors are happy as they're all getting a slice of the payment at a percentage that reflects how much they're owed. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025
