FBS IT support is second to none

The Family Building Society had updated their internet banking system and seldom using it I had to re-register but got confused with passwords, etc., so called their IT help line. Nicole calmed me down, saw me through each possible error situation and got me going again. Her patience was admirable, especially after us waiting 5 mins for an email to arrive only for me to notice my broadband had disconnected. In my 70s I easily get irate when faced with computer probs but I was guided in a non-judgemental way with care and consideration. Three days later she called back to check I was happy. If only all companies were so efficient: I can see why they are called the Family Building Society. Reviewed on: 27th November 2025

In Hawaii my wife suffered a tooth abscess, required an antibiotic jab and some pills. This would have cost dear if we had not had cover. We paid and claimed on our return via a very slick procedure and were reimbursed quickly and efficiently. Reviewed on: 29th August 2025

Comprehensive and safe

Thank you Catherine for taking us through the procedure to open two EMAs and transfer some funds to them from our Welcome accounts. The explanation was comprehensive, anticipating most of my questions. The one you couldn't answer (relating to prevention of carpetbagging, prevalent in the 1990s) you sought confirmation rather than guess. That in itself inspires confidence. We now know this is covered in your windfall policy. Despite there still being 150,000 new covid cases a day in England, the set up in the shiny new branch was all we could ask for and we felt safe during our meeting. I came away with more extra info than I really needed but am now well-prepared to consider NBS as a place to put more savings when the time comes. See you in the new tax year.
