Different Underwriter

I have had self renewing Sainsbury's Car Insurance for 17b years, and a couple of different cars. I can't use their Online Service, because it does not recognise the web reference I was given all those years ago. When I eventually got through on the phone, their operator said that I would have to contact esure , because they did not have details. My Certificate of Motor Insurance has a Sainsburys letterhead and address, which I pointed out,. Water off a duck's back. I contacted esure, who claimed to have no record of my insurance policy either. Now I'm not even sure I'm insured at all ! Do NOT use Sainsburys Car Insurance, their Customer Service is dreadful and I dread to think what would happen if I attempted to actually make a claim. "Nothing to do with us, Guv" springs to mind.
