Getting a mortgage when your 55

My husband and I were extremely apprehensive about getting a mortgage for the first time at our age. Lyndsey at the Halifax could not have made the process easier, she treated us like people not numbers, explained things very carefully and listened to my husbands boring stories of his train sets lol. It was so easy I wonder why didn't do it before. She even heed us transfer our account from another Building Society, who were awful even though we had banked with them for 27 years they refused us a mortgage.
