Exceptional customer service

When the bank text you to say your debit card has been stopped as it was dropped and found by a stranger who reported it to the bank, you may be a little alarmed. I had just ordered (and received) dinner on holiday in Iceland when this happened to me. Terrified I would not be able to pay for the delicious food, I contacted Starling immediately to tell them of my predicament. Straight away they put a new card onto my phone and I could enjoy my meal (and the rest of my holiday) knowing no crisis had been made out of a potential drama. Had this been my previous bank I most certainly would have waited hours for a resolution - and most probably would have been doing the washing up at the restaurant!
