Review of the Starling Bank, Business Account:

Fine, until things go wrong

The real test of a relationship is what happens when things go wrong. A failed transaction led to a hold on my account that Starling refuses to release. The merchant (Apple) says the problem is with the bank. Starling claims there is nothing they can do. Meanwhile my money is held hostage. A normal bank might give me a temporary overdraft to cover the held amount, but extraordinarily Starling doesn’t offer business overdrafts. Starling agrees that I am not at fault, but it is unwilling to help in any way. Computer says no. I’ll be switching to a full-service bank. Reviewed on: 26th March 2022
