Review of the Tesco Bank, Home insurance:

My Tesco Home Insurance claim

Due to a ceiling being damaged by a water leak in July 2025, the whole ceiling needed to be replaced. I phoned Tesco to make a claim and was asked to get some quotes. I explained that I was still suffering from Long Covid having contracted the virus in August 2022 and felt very daunted at the task. I asked if they had recommended contractors who could do the work. Tesco told me that it might take longer than if I organised it myself but I told them that it would not matter if the room was out of action for a few months. They said they would take care of things. A claims management company contacted me before the end of the week and told me that they were going to be responsible for organising everything. They were true to their word and let me know which workmen were coming and when. All the contractors turned up when they were supposed to and a dedicated member of the claims management team checked progress with me at the end of every week. It was so smooth from start to finish and the room, with new fitted carpet, was completely done by the second week of December. I contacted Tesco to thank them and tell them I was so happy with the whole experience. The bonus was that when my insurance came up for renewal, I was expecting a significant increase as I'd had to claim but it had only gone up by the rate of inflation. Can't fault them! Stepchange were a lifesaver.
