InvestEngine is good for low costs and flexibility.

5
I use InvestEngine for both an ISA and a SIPP, the best features are its flexibility and very low fees. They’ve cancelled pension fees and if you self select funds you can also avoid fees on ISAs too. Within the ISA you can set up different portfolios - I have three, a general broad global selection, and income portfolio and a money market one which beats a cash ISA. Once you’ve worked out how to set it up and had a chance to research the ETFs it’s easy to manage. Other excellent points are the ability to trade part ISAs which is really useful as same are over £1,000 each. I have switched all my ISA funds from my traditional supplier for the extra flexibility and cost savings. The range of ISAs is also growing all the time. Reviewed on: 20th February 2025

Simple and cheap way of accessing ETFs

5
ETFs are a cost effective way of accessing a wide range of investments as they have low management costs. The drawback is you have to buy them on stock markets which can be expensive with traditional investment platforms (around £10 a trade on many) and you usually need to trade whole shares and with some costing £250 each that’s not always convenient. But Invest Engine makes accessing ETFs really cheap (basically free) and simple by allowing you to buy part shares. This makes it cost effective to save small amounts regularly which is easier for most people to get into investments. Building up a portfolio choice is also really easy as they have good analytics tools so you can quickly see asset classes, countries and the individual companies you are investing in. Better detail than many platforms. Have an ISA with them, just wish they were able to do pensions. If I have a small gripe it’s that it can take a day or so for regular monthly payments to get from your bank into your account to be invested. But otherwise it’s been a really positive experience and they are improving the app all the time. Reviewed on: 1st February 2023
