NO freedom of choice!

I switched my starling account for another UK bank account to get a switching offer, however, when I've tried to reopen a Starling Bank account. . . I've been refused, because Starling policy now states that once you close the account, you can no longer open another one!!! Reviewed on: 31st March 2026
Reply from Starling Bank Hi Raj, we're sorry to hear about your experience. You'd usually need to wait 12 months before you can reapply for an account with us. But we're currently making some changes to our onboarding process, and have temporarily paused applications to returning customers. While we don't have any recent news or a specific timeframe on this yet, we can assure you that we're working hard to make it available again very soon.
